Markdown to PowerPoint: Choose a Conversion Workflow

Choose a Markdown converter when slide boundaries and wording must follow your file. Choose an AI-assisted brief workflow when you want a new outline from the material. Those tasks have different acceptance criteria: preserving a source structure is not the same as summarizing it.

Marp supports Markdown-based slides and export to HTML, PDF and PowerPoint. Its slide separator is a line containing three hyphens. For a three-slide outline, start with a title and purpose, then a source result, then a decision. Keep conversion tooling separate from your acceptance check: an exported PPTX still needs inspection.

For an AI route, paste the approved text into the brief rather than promising a native Markdown import. Ask for one proposed slide per decision or evidence group, review the outline, then generate. In Pageworks, check the selected mode and current plan; do not assume Markdown tables, code blocks or speaker-note syntax map to identical PowerPoint objects.

Try a five-line code sample and a two-column table before converting a whole technical document. Reopen the exported file and replace one identifier and one value. If exact code layout is essential, keep the original source accessible and decide whether a picture is acceptable for that particular slide.
